Stop, breathe and smile cause life is beautiful

Have you ever thought about the value of a single breath?
Personally and professionally my world revolves around life.
It’s one of the most rewarding gifts and I am so grateful for it!
A couple of weeks ago I started out with the flu. Within three days I ended up in the emergency room with pneumonia. This is the first time I can recall ever having pneumonia. I was immediately booked into hospital and stayed for seven days. During this time I was unable to breathe properly without an oxygen mask, nebuliser, physiotherapy twice a day, a drip as well as other medication continually brought to me by the awesome nurses. I could not believe everything I needed to do and take to just be able to breathe.

As I lay in the hospital I was overwhelmed by the love and support of my family and friends. You see, I decided to do things a little differently this time. I normally like to deal with things on my own but decided to let my loved ones in. It was the most exhilerating experience. I felt free. I felt taken care of. I knew I was in good hands. All I needed to do was just take care of myself and breathe.

I read the most beautiful passages. One said you are where you need to be right now. I remember looking around the room and wondering what is my purpose here now. When you open your eyes to really see what is happening around you it is a beautiful thing. I came across so many people from different walks of life. Each with their very own story.

It reminded me that life is full of surprises. Both good and bad. We may not always understand what is happening to us but how we react to it defines the outcome.

What is happening in your life right now? Are you in the place you would like to be? Are there any goals you would like to reach? Are you wanting an extraordinary life?
